Mary Rose Museum
The Mary Rose Museum.
Reuniting the ship with its artefacts for the first time since it sank before the eyes of King Henry VIII in 1545.
Working alongside architects Wilkinson Eyre the collective creative team won a global architectural competition to design the new home for one of the most important historical projects in Britain.
The Galleries create a snapshot of time moments before the ship sank in battle. Visitors walk along re interpreted deck levels to imagine the life on-board with digital projection and film content used to successfully bring this story to life.
“The Mary Rose is one of the most important objects in English History. It’s up there with the Doomsday Book, the Magna Carta, and Hampton Court. Indeed I would go further. The Mary Rose is the English Pompeii or Herculaneum; all Tudor life is there.”
